Fitted Wardrobes London

Built-in wardrobes designed for your space, handmade in our workshop, installed by our team.

London bedrooms are rarely standard. Sloped ceilings, chimney breast alcoves, awkward corners — off-the-shelf wardrobes leave gaps and waste space. Our custom wardrobes are designed to the millimetre, built from premium materials, and finished to a standard that transforms how your bedroom works.

Built to Your Space

Built to Your Space

London bedrooms are rarely standard — sloped ceilings, chimney breast alcoves, awkward corners. Every wardrobe we build is designed to the millimetre, with no filler strips and no wasted space. Period property or modern flat, every panel is shaped to follow the exact contours of your walls, with no gaps.

Premium Materials Inside & Out

Premium Materials Inside & Out

Carcasses built from the highest-quality materials specified for your project — from birch plywood to premium board — high-quality soft-close hardware, and workshop-sprayed finishes. The materials and methods professional joiners trust. Your wardrobe will outlast the kitchen, the bathroom and the carpets.

Designed Around Your Life

Designed Around Your Life

We ask what you own, how you organise, and what frustrates you about your current storage. The result is a wardrobe that works the way you think — full-length hanging, double-hang rails, pull-out drawers, jewellery trays, LED lighting, all in proportion to your actual wardrobe.

Fitted Wardrobe Styles We Build

Every wardrobe design starts with your room and your storage needs. Here are the configurations we build most often for London homeowners.

Hinged-Door Wardrobes

Classic outward-opening doors — the most popular choice for bedrooms with sufficient clearance. Available as Shaker panel, flat slab, or traditional raised-and-fielded styles. Full-height doors eliminate the need for a separate cornice and create a clean, floor-to-ceiling line.

Best for: Master bedrooms, guest rooms, large bedrooms.

Sliding Door Wardrobes

Doors glide on concealed tracks, requiring no swing space — ideal for tight bedrooms or wardrobes opposite a bed. Our sliding systems use soft-close mechanisms for smooth, quiet operation. Door panels can be mirrored, painted, or timber-veneered.

Best for: Small bedrooms, loft conversions, rooms with limited floor space.

Alcove Wardrobes

Built-in wardrobes fitted into chimney breast alcoves — one of the most requested storage solutions in London period homes. We shape every panel to follow the irregular walls of Victorian and Edwardian properties, creating wardrobes that look original to the house.

Best for: Victorian terraces, Edwardian homes, any room with alcoves. See also our alcove cupboards & shelving guide.

Walk-In Wardrobes & Dressing Rooms

A full walk-in wardrobe designed around your clothes, shoes, and accessories. Open hanging, closed cabinets, pull-out drawers, shoe racks, jewellery trays, and full-length mirrors — everything configured to how you actually dress. LED lighting integrated throughout.

Best for: Spare rooms converted to dressing rooms, large master suites.

Sloped Ceiling Wardrobes

Loft conversions and attic rooms have angled ceilings that standard wardrobes cannot fit. We build wardrobes that follow the roofline precisely, maximising every centimetre of usable height. Angled doors, stepped internal shelving, and pull-out rail systems make the most of eaves storage.

Best for: Loft conversions, attic bedrooms, rooms with dormer windows.

Full-Wall Wardrobe Systems

An entire wall of continuous wardrobe cabinetry — floor to ceiling, corner to corner. Multiple sections combine long-hang, short-hang, shelving, drawers, and shoe storage behind a unified run of doors. The effect is architectural and transforms the bedroom into a calm, clutter-free space.

Best for: Master bedrooms, couples needing dedicated his/hers sections.

Materials & Construction

What’s behind the doors matters more than what’s on them. We build fitted bedroom furniture to last decades, not just years.

Carcass Materials

We build your wardrobe carcasses from the right material for your project and budget — from birch plywood to quality board. Where birch plywood is specified, it is cross-laminated for strength, dimensionally stable, and holds screw fixings reliably over time. Whatever the specification, the carcass is built to last.

Door Options

Painted MDF (any colour, flawless spray finish), solid oak, solid walnut, or oak-veneered panels. We also offer fabric-inset panels, mirror panels, and frosted glass for contemporary designs. For a more premium look, we offer integrated metalwork — brass inlays and inserts, or doors framed in metal all around — to lift the joinery to a higher specification.

Soft-Close Hardware

Every hinge, drawer runner, and pull-out mechanism uses high-quality soft-close components chosen for reliability and smooth, quiet operation. We fit trusted, industry-leading hardware backed by a manufacturer warranty.

Workshop Spray Finish

Painted wardrobes are finished in our spray booth — not on site. Multiple coats with sanding between each layer produce a surface that’s smoother, harder, and more durable than hand-painting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do fitted wardrobes cost in London?

Bespoke fitted wardrobes in London cost between £1,500 and £15,000+ per unit. A single alcove wardrobe in painted MDF starts around £1,500–£2,500; a walk-in dressing room in hardwood can exceed £15,000. We provide itemised quotes after a free consultation. Read our full pricing guide for detailed breakdowns.

How long does it take to make and install fitted wardrobes?

From design approval to installation, expect 4–10 weeks. Design takes 1–2 weeks, manufacture 2–6 weeks, and installation 1–3 days per wardrobe unit. We recommend starting 2–3 months before your target completion date.

What is the difference between fitted and freestanding wardrobes?

Fitted wardrobes are built to the exact dimensions of your room — floor to ceiling, wall to wall, with no gaps. Freestanding wardrobes are pre-made in standard sizes, leaving unusable space at the top and sides. Fitted wardrobes maximise storage capacity by up to 40% and create a cleaner, more architectural look.

Can fitted wardrobes be built into alcoves?

Alcoves flanking a chimney breast are one of the most popular locations for built-in wardrobes in London. We shape panels to fit irregular walls, match skirting and cornice profiles, and create wardrobes that look original to the property. See our alcove storage guide for more ideas.

Do fitted wardrobes add value to a property?

Yes. Built-in bedroom storage is consistently listed by estate agents as a feature that increases buyer interest, particularly in London where bedroom space is at a premium. Well-designed fitted wardrobes can add 1–3% to a property’s value and help properties sell faster.

Can you build wardrobes for sloped ceilings in loft conversions?

Yes — this is one of our specialities. We build wardrobes that follow angled ceilings precisely, using every centimetre of available height. Internal layouts are designed around the roofline with stepped shelving, angled hanging sections, and pull-out drawers in the lowest areas where height is most limited.

Bedroom Storage Designed Around You

The exterior of a wardrobe matters — but it’s the wardrobe interiors that you live with daily. We design every shelf, rail, and drawer around your actual wardrobe, not a generic template.

Internal Feature Purpose Standard Dimensions
Full-length hanging Dresses, coats, long garments 1,400 mm clearance minimum
Double-hang rail Shirts, jackets, folded trousers Two rails at 1,050 mm and 500 mm
Pull-out drawers Underwear, accessories, knitwear 150–200 mm deep, soft-close
Adjustable shelving Jumpers, bags, folded items 300–400 mm spacing, movable
Shoe rack / pull-out Shoes and boots Angled shelves or pull-out trays
Jewellery & accessory trays Watches, jewellery, sunglasses Velvet-lined, pull-out
Internal LED lighting Visibility, ambiance Motion-sensor or door-activated
Pull-out trouser rail Trousers, ties, belts Holds 10–15 pairs

Every internal configuration is designed during the consultation. We ask what you own, how you organise, and what frustrates you about your current storage. The result is one of the most complete wardrobe storage solutions available — a wardrobe that works the way you think.
