Noba & Stod is a London-based bespoke kitchen company specialising in handmade cabinetry for period and contemporary homes. We design, manufacture, and install custom kitchens using premium carcass materials (such as birch plywood) and hardwood or spray-painted doors. Projects range from £15,000 to £80,000+, with typical lead times of 10–18 weeks.

Designed to Your Exact Measurements

Designed to Your Exact Measurements

Victorian terraces have sloping floors. Edwardian townhouses have deep bay windows. New-build apartments have angled corners. A mass-produced fitted kitchen forces your space to accommodate its limitations — a bespoke kitchen does the opposite. Every cabinet, every door, every detail is made for your home.

One Workshop, One Team, One Standard

One Workshop, One Team, One Standard

Your kitchen is designed, built, finished and installed under one roof, managed by a single dedicated team. No anonymous factory pipeline. The people who oversee the build also oversee the fit — so when something needs adjusting on site, whoever does it knows exactly how it was made.

Built to Last 25–30 Years

Built to Last 25–30 Years

Premium carcass materials — from birch plywood to quality board — are built to outlast a mass-produced kitchen. Booth-sprayed doors take a finish that brush painting cannot achieve. High-quality soft-close hardware carries a manufacturer guarantee. The investment is significant — and so is the lifespan.

Why Choose a Bespoke Kitchen?

London homes rarely have standard dimensions. Victorian terraces have sloping floors and uneven walls. Edwardian townhouses have deep bay windows and high ceilings. New-build apartments have compact footprints and angled corners. A mass-produced fitted kitchen forces your space to accommodate its limitations. A bespoke kitchen does the opposite — it’s built to fit your home exactly.

Made to your exact measurements

Every cabinet is designed to the millimetre. No filler panels, no awkward gaps, no wasted space. Corners, alcoves, and non-standard walls become functional storage instead of dead zones.

Superior materials that last

We build carcasses from premium materials specified for your project — from birch plywood to quality board — chosen to last rather than to cut corners. Doors are spray-finished in a controlled workshop environment for a flawless result that lasts 25–30+ years.

Unlimited design freedom

Choose any door style, colour, handle, internal configuration, and finish. From classic Shaker to handleless contemporary, from heritage painted to natural hardwood — there’s no catalogue to limit you.

One team, start to finish

Your kitchen is designed, built, and installed under one dedicated team with a single point of contact. No miscommunication passing between designer, workshop, and fitter. The people overseeing your project understand every detail of how it is made.

Bespoke Kitchen Styles We Design

We don’t work from a fixed catalogue. Every kitchen is designed from scratch to suit your home, taste, and how you cook. That said, most of our London kitchen projects fall into one of these design directions.

Shaker Kitchens

The most popular bespoke kitchen design in London. The Shaker kitchen combines clean lines, framed doors, and timeless proportions that work in both period and modern homes. Available in-frame or lay-on, painted in any colour. We build Shaker kitchens that feel classic without being old-fashioned.

Contemporary & Handleless

Flat-panel doors with push-catch or integrated J-pull handles. Minimal, clean, and architectural. Suited to open-plan living, modern apartments, and clients who want their kitchen to feel like built-in furniture rather than a separate room.

Traditional & In-Frame

Raised-and-fielded panels, beaded detailing, and in-frame construction — the hallmarks of a traditional English handmade kitchen. Built for Georgian townhouses, country estates, and heritage properties where every detail must respect the original architecture.

Industrial & Plywood

Exposed birch plywood edges, metal accents, open shelving, and raw material aesthetics. A growing choice for warehouse conversions, lofts, and London homes that embrace imperfection. Functional, honest, and built to age beautifully.

Materials & Craftsmanship

The quality of a bespoke kitchen comes down to what’s inside the cabinets, not just how they look. We use materials that professional joiners trust — not what keeps costs lowest.

Quality Carcass Materials

We build carcasses from the right material for your project — from cross-laminated birch plywood to quality board. Where plywood is specified, it is strong, stable, and handles moisture without swelling, built to last the life of the property.

Solid Hardwood & MDF Doors

For painted finishes, we use moisture-resistant MDF — it takes spray paint perfectly with no grain show-through. For natural wood kitchens, we work with solid oak, walnut, and ash sourced from certified suppliers.

Workshop Spray Finish

Every painted kitchen is finished in our spray booth — not on site. Multiple coats of primer, undercoat, and topcoat are applied and sanded between layers. The result is a factory-smooth finish that brush-and-roller painting cannot achieve.

Soft-Close Hardware Throughout

We fit high-quality soft-close hinges and drawer systems as standard across all our kitchens. These components carry a manufacturer guarantee and are the industry benchmark for smooth, quiet, durable operation.

How Our Bespoke Kitchen Process Works

Commissioning a handmade kitchen is different from buying a fitted one. There’s no showroom to walk through — instead, you work directly with the people who’ll design, build, and install your kitchen.

01

Free Consultation

We visit your home, discuss your requirements, take measurements, and talk through design possibilities. You leave with a clear understanding of what’s achievable within your space and budget. No obligation.

02

Design & Proposal

We produce detailed drawings — plan views, elevations, and 3D visualisations — showing every cabinet, its internal configuration, and material specification. You receive an itemised quote. Expect 1–2 rounds of revisions until the design is exactly right.

03

Workshop Manufacture

Once the design is approved, your kitchen goes into production. CNC-cut panels, hand-assembled joints, precision-machined doors, and booth-sprayed finishes — everything is built under one roof by our team.

04

Installation & Handover

Your kitchen arrives pre-finished and is installed by our dedicated team. Base units, wall units, worktop templating, appliance fitting, and final adjustments. We don’t leave until everything is perfect.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a bespoke kitchen cost in London?

A bespoke kitchen in London typically costs between £15,000 and £80,000+ fully installed, depending on size, materials, worktops, and appliances. Cabinetry alone ranges from £8,000–£35,000+. We provide detailed itemised quotes after a free design consultation so there are no surprises. See our full kitchen cost guide for a detailed breakdown.

How long does it take to design and install a bespoke kitchen?

From initial consultation to completed installation, a bespoke kitchen takes 10–18 weeks. This includes design and planning (2–4 weeks), workshop manufacture (4–8 weeks), and on-site installation (1–3 weeks). We recommend starting the process 4–6 months before your target completion date to allow comfortable buffer.

What areas of London do you cover?

We design and install bespoke kitchens across all London boroughs — from Knightsbridge and Chelsea to Islington, Hackney, Greenwich, and Richmond. We also serve surrounding areas in the Home Counties by arrangement.

What is the difference between a bespoke kitchen and a fitted kitchen?

A fitted kitchen uses factory-made modular units in standard sizes assembled on site. A bespoke kitchen is individually designed and handmade to your exact measurements. The difference shows in fit quality (no filler strips), material quality (premium, made-to-last materials), and lifespan (25–30 years vs 10–15). Read our bespoke kitchen cabinets guide for a detailed comparison.

Do you offer a free kitchen design consultation?

Yes. We offer a free initial consultation where we visit your home, discuss your vision and requirements, take measurements, and provide design direction. There is no obligation to proceed. Following this, we prepare detailed drawings and a comprehensive quote.

Can you work with my architect or interior designer?

Absolutely. Many of our projects are collaborations with architects and interior designers. We work from architectural drawings, coordinate with other trades on site, and adapt our designs to complement the wider project vision. We’re experienced in working to tight construction schedules on renovation projects.
