A bespoke joinery studio in London. Fitted furniture, kitchens, wardrobes, media walls, alcove units and one-off pieces, designed and made in our own workshop.
Some rooms need more than furniture from a catalogue. They need bespoke joinery: cabinetry designed for one particular wall, one awkward alcove, one way of living. Noba & Stod is a bespoke joinery studio in London. Our cabinet makers and joiners design, build and install fitted furniture for homes across the capital, and every piece is built in our own London workshop before it ever reaches your door.
From a single alcove cupboard to a whole-house joinery package, you work with one dedicated team and a single point of contact, from the first sketch to the final fitting.
Noba & Stod is a bespoke joinery company based in London. We design, build and install fitted wardrobes, bespoke kitchens, media walls, home offices, alcove units and one-off furniture. Everything is made in our own London joinery workshop using premium carcass materials, such as birch plywood, with high-quality soft-close hardware throughout. Fitted wardrobes start from £1,500 and bespoke media walls from £2,500. Prices are a guide and exclude VAT. Design consultations are free, and most projects take 4-10 weeks from approved design to installation.
What Does a Bespoke Joinery Studio Make?
Most of our work is custom joinery for London homes: fitted furniture designed for a specific room, drawn to the millimetre and built to last decades. These are the five commissions we take on most often, each with its own dedicated service page.

Fitted Wardrobes & Bedroom Storage
Alcove wardrobes, full-wall systems, walk-in dressing rooms and loft wardrobes that follow the roofline. Every carcass is made in our workshop and every panel is shaped to follow the contours of your walls, so the finished wardrobe looks original to the room. Fitted wardrobes start from £1,500 excluding VAT. Explore our fitted wardrobes service.

Bespoke Kitchens
Kitchen cabinetry made to measure: in-frame and flat-panel doors, pantries, larders, islands and integrated appliance housings. As a bespoke cabinet maker, we build the carcasses, doors and drawers ourselves rather than assembling factory modules, so the layout is designed around your room instead of a standard grid. See our bespoke kitchens service.

Home Offices & Studies
Alcove desks, floor-to-ceiling bookcases, filing drawers and cable management that keeps a working room calm. Fitted office joinery turns a spare corner, a landing or a full study into a space you actually want to work in, with every shelf sized to what you own. Details on our bespoke home office service.

Luxury & One-Off Furniture
Dining tables, sideboards, headboards, dressing tables and statement pieces in solid oak, walnut and ash. This is hardwood joinery at its most exacting, with hand-finished surfaces and premium metalwork options such as brass inlays and metal-framed doors. Explore our luxury furniture service.

Media Walls & Living Room Joinery
Fitted media walls with recessed TVs, fireplace recesses, panelling, lit shelving and concealed storage, built as one architectural piece rather than a run of boxes. Bespoke media walls start from £2,500 excluding VAT. See our media walls service.
Inside Our London Joinery Workshop
Plenty of firms sell joinery. Far fewer make it. Noba & Stod is a maker first: our joinery workshop in London houses the machinery, spray booth and bench space where every commission is cut, assembled and finished before installation. Working this way gives us control over tolerances, finish quality and lead times that assembled-on-site furniture cannot match, and you are welcome to visit and see your own project in production. Learn more about our studio.
The team is small and senior: cabinet makers, joiners and spray finishers who have spent their careers building furniture. If you have been searching for cabinet makers near me or a cabinet maker in London and kept finding showrooms with no workshop behind them, this is the difference. The people who design your piece talk directly to the people who build it, your project is managed by one dedicated team, and you keep a single point of contact from survey to handover.
Materials, Finishes & Metalwork
Good joinery starts with what you cannot see. We specify every board, veneer and hinge for the job it has to do, and we walk you through the options during design. For the full picture, visit our materials page.
Premium Carcass Materials
Carcasses are built from premium carcass materials, such as birch plywood, specified to suit your design and budget. Whatever the specification, joints are machined for strength and every unit is built to hold its shape for decades.
Hardwoods & Veneers
Solid oak, walnut and ash for frames, doors and one-off furniture, alongside oak and walnut veneers for larger panels. Hardwood joinery brings warmth and longevity that painted board alone cannot, and it ages beautifully.
Workshop Spray Finishes
Painted pieces are finished in our spray booth, not on site. Multiple coats with sanding between layers produce a surface that is smoother, harder and more durable than hand-painting, in any colour you choose.
Metalwork Options
For a more premium specification we integrate metalwork: brass inlays and inserts, metal-framed doors, and bronze or brass detailing. Paired with high-quality soft-close hardware throughout, it lifts the joinery to a higher level.
How Does a Bespoke Joinery Project Work?
Free Design Consultation
We visit your home or discuss your plans remotely, measure the space, and talk through what you want the joinery to do. You leave with a clear sense of what is possible and what it is likely to cost. No obligation.
Design & Quote
Detailed drawings show the piece from every side, inside and out, with material and finish specifications. The quote is itemised with no hidden costs, and we revise the design until it is exactly right.
Workshop Build
Your commission is CNC-cut, hand-assembled and spray-finished in our own London workshop by the same team you met at the design stage. We check every unit against the drawings before it leaves the bench.
Installation
Pre-finished units are delivered and installed by our team. Panels are shaped to follow the contours of your walls, levelled and adjusted until the fit is seamless. Most installations take between one day and one week.
Why Choose a Joinery Studio Over a National Brand?
An honest answer: national fitted-furniture brands are good at what they do. Standard ranges, quick surveys and finance plans suit a standard wardrobe in a standard room. A specialist joinery studio earns its place when the room is not standard: period alcoves, sloped ceilings, walls that are anything but straight, architectural joinery that has to match original cornices and mouldings, unusual materials, or integrated metalwork. A studio also gives you the same small team throughout, rather than separate sales, survey and fitting departments. If you are weighing up your options, our guide to the best joinery companies in London compares studios, national brands and independent makers without the sales pitch.
Do You Take On Commercial Joinery?
We are residential-led, but yes. We take on selected commercial joinery commissions and joinery fit out work for offices, boutique retail, cafes and hospitality spaces across London: reception desks, wall panelling, banquette seating, shelving systems and display units. The same workshop, the same makers and the same finish standards apply, so commercial clients get furniture built to a domestic level of care.
Bespoke Joinery Across London
We deliver bespoke joinery services across the whole of London from our own workshop, with regular projects in north London (Islington, Hampstead, Highgate, Camden), east London (Hackney, Shoreditch, Victoria Park), west London (Chiswick, Fulham, Notting Hill, Richmond) and central and south neighbourhoods from Chelsea and Kensington to Clapham and Dulwich. You can read about our north London joinery work or browse recent projects in our portfolio.
Searching for bespoke joinery near me? If your project is in Greater London, we can usually arrange a site visit within days. As a London joinery company with our own workshop, one dedicated team manages your project from survey to installation, which keeps the programme predictable and the quality consistent.
How Much Does Bespoke Joinery Cost?
Every piece is priced individually from the drawings, so there is no single rate card. The main cost drivers are size, carcass and door materials, finish, internal complexity, metalwork and site access. As a rule, a made-to-measure piece costs more than flat-pack and considerably less than most people expect once its lifespan is factored in.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a bespoke joinery studio do?
A bespoke joinery studio designs, builds and installs made-to-measure furniture and cabinetry. At Noba & Stod that covers fitted wardrobes, bespoke kitchens, media walls, home offices, alcove units, wall panelling and one-off freestanding pieces, all made in our own London workshop and installed by our team.
What is the difference between joinery and carpentry?
Joinery is furniture and cabinetry made in a workshop and then installed in your home, while carpentry is structural timber work carried out on site, such as stud walls, floors and roof timbers. Bespoke joinery is about precision and finish: cabinetry, doors, panelling and fitted furniture built to fine tolerances.
Do you make one-off pieces of furniture?
Yes. Alongside fitted joinery we design and build one-off dining tables, sideboards, headboards and other freestanding pieces through our luxury furniture service, including premium details such as brass inlays and metal-framed doors.
How long does a bespoke joinery project take?
Most projects take 4-10 weeks from approved design to installation. Design and drawings usually take 1-2 weeks, the workshop build 2-6 weeks, and installation runs from a single day for one unit to around a week for whole-room fit-outs.
Do you take on commercial joinery projects?
Yes. We are residential-led, but we take on selected commercial fit-out commissions such as reception desks, wall panelling, shelving and banquette seating for offices, retail and hospitality spaces across London, built in the same workshop by the same team.
How much does bespoke joinery cost in London?
It depends on size, materials and complexity, so every project is quoted from drawings. As anchors, fitted wardrobes start from £1,500 and bespoke media walls from £2,500, excluding VAT; our fitted wardrobe cost guide and media wall cost guide give detailed breakdowns.
